Brought up and educated locally, Grace Thompson is proud to call Taupo her home. It’s unsurprising, then, that her connections and community ties are strong.
After many years working in hospitality, Grace has gained experience in a range of venues, from cafes and restaurants to large conference centres and luxury lodges. This wealth of knowledge and skill in growing businesses, makes her the perfect person to successfully own and manage Eat Catering.
Listening is a strength at Eat. Grace enjoys getting to know her clients and learning how the company can help to make their particular event special. Her versatility and creativity come alive when there is an occasion to plan, and she doesn’t flinch at a challenge!
Raising people’s expectations of event catering is important to Grace, and in this she certainly succeeds.
The Team
It is clear that Grace’s team is very much wha nau. Embracing the principals of whanaungatanga, staff feel nurtured and valued. Many of Eat’s employees are from the local area, and Grace thrives on helping them build skills when necessary in delivering the best possible service for clients.
Eat Catering’s close knit team works hard, but the cheerful atmosphere is also very apparent. This makes for a great environment where the aroha for food can shine through.
